First, let’s talk about who we are! I’m Amy, a history teacher at a small school, and when I’m not teaching, I’m crafting and dreaming up new designs. My mom, Lori, has been in retail for more years than she cares to mention (let’s just say she’s a pro!). Together, we’ve combined her retail know-how and my creative spark to bring you a collection we’re truly proud of.
The Story Behind "Charlie’s Charming Novelties"
You’re probably wondering, "Why Charlie?" Well, it’s a name that’s near and dear to our hearts. My mom grew up with the last name Brown, and naturally, her classmates gave her the nickname Charlie after the iconic "Charlie Brown" character. The name stuck with her throughout her childhood and even into her adult years.
Then, after getting married, she found a kindred spirit in a furry best friend—an incredibly loving dog she also named Charlie. He brought so much joy and charm into our lives. Sadly, as it often happens with our beloved pets, Charlie’s time with us was shorter than we would have liked. He passed away last year, leaving behind a lot of cherished memories.
This store, Charlie’s Charming Novelties, is a loving tribute to both my mom’s nickname and to a beautiful soul who brought endless charm to our hearts. We hope the charm that "Charlie" brought to us shines through in every item we create and share with you.
